Funding Solutions to the Opioid Crisis An Assessment of Needs and Opportunities

On behalf of The Sandgaard Foundation, Hammer & Associates conducted phone interviews with 23 key informants. These individuals represented national and local foundations, funder groups, direct service providers from local and national nonprofit organizations, coalitions, experts in healthcare, advocacy organizations, public media campaigns, and more.

This report presents a high-level summary of the content we gathered from these interviews, as well as materials from relevant documents, reports and websites. It presents key findings from the interviews; a discussion of the opioid crisis at the county, nonprofit, and foundation levels; and a list of possible grantmaking options and opportunities that exist for The Sandgaard Foundation and others to consider.
