I’m off to London this week for the Global Family Office Conference, an event organized by my friend and colleague Vahe Vartanian, founder & CEO of the Global Family Office Community. This will be my fourth year attending this conference, and I’m excited to again be with family office members, leaders, and experts from all continents.
I’ll be sure to give you a report of this year’s conference highlights when I return stateside. Follow me on Twitter @SuzHammerGiving for live updates. Meanwhile, I’ll share a few of my favorite resources from previous years’ conferences, which you can download from the Global Family Office Knowledge Centre:
- Philanthropy in the Family Office: A Global Perspective: Hammer & Associates, in partnership with the Global Family Office Community, co-published this first global study on philanthropy in family offices worldwide.
- Family Office Outlook 2018: Global Family Office Community held a family office seminar in London in February 2018 on the outlook for 2018 for family offices: economic, political and legal. This is a summary of the discussion.
- Engaging the Rising Generation of Wealth Stewards: Patricia Armstrong of Abbot Downing shares research on how clients in their 20’s and early 30’s wish to engage with their wealth, as they transition into adult roles and relationships and assume more responsibility for managing the financial assets.
- Philanthropy Report for Family Offices: This joint report by Moore Stephens and Phoenix Hayward provides best practice for family offices when deciding whether a philanthropic venture is appropriate and how to bring philanthropic goals to fruition.
Happy reading! As always, if you have questions about how philanthropy can help your family office or foundation (or those of your clients), please be in touch at Suzanne@SuzanneHammer.com.
